World War One
World War One began in August 1914 and ended on the 11th November 1918 after the Armistice was signed. The main reason why the war started was because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife on the 28th June 1914. World War one cannot be portrayed as successful, this is because thousands of men died and thousands of men returned to their home injured. World War One was situated around Europe as shown in the Map, mainly around Germany, and all of the land sources were used, for example the ocean, the forests and the plain land.
Primary and Secondary Sources
A primary source is an original object, which is the first or the real version of something, varying from images to mugs and rings. An example of a primary source is the Mona Lisa, which is a painting of a half-lengthed lady, painted by Leonardo da Vinci, a famous artist. This is because it is the exact painting which Leonardo painted and therfeore any copies are not primary sources, as they would not have the exact texture as the real painting.
Some examples are-
> A roman coin made in 1862
> A piece of hair from President Kennedy
> An antique clock made in 1918
A secondary source is something that has been created using a primary source, for example a re enactment of an unfortunate event, or a photocopied drawing. A real example of a secondary source, could be a spoon with the same design as a Roman spoon made in 1865.

> Copy of the Mona Lisa
> A Chinese plate which was painted to match an original Chinese plate
